Introducing the Mini Mini Session
Winters in Edmonton are cold. I am writing this as the sun is streaming through my window but it is -35 degrees out! Yup, you read that correctly! This weather makes for minimal outdoor sessions. Families don’t last long in the cold and my camera and fingers don’t last long either. So when this family contacted me and wanted just a few photos for their Christmas card, I decided to offer them a “mini mini session”.
What is this?
This photo session is 15 minutes long and 5 digital photos that you get to choose from a gallery of about 30 photos. The cost of a mini session is $165. I will only do mini mini sessions when the temperature is -5 degrees or warmer. These sessions take place in a beautiful field close to my house. I will still offer mini sessions that are 30 minutes in length with 10 digital photos and coast $295. However, during the slow winter months, these short sessions are a great option where the light is amazing at 3pm rather than at 9pm (summertime golden hour).
This family was so sweet and can I dare say, so photogenic? Their littlest was getting over being sick and I didn’t mind rescheduling to make sure he was healthy and happy. Sick kids don’t make for good photos. The joy of scheduling a session during my slow season is that I am able to reschedule more easily. Fall season is jam packed and changing dates to accommodate sickness and capture the short season of fall colours can be tough.
I always offer the entire gallery for an extra $100 which this family decided to purchase. So, if you missed sending out Christmas cards and wanted to take Valentine’s Day photos instead, contact me for a mini mini session!
